In short
Aero is discontinued Mini-LED PCVR at 2880×2720 / 115° H / 487 g + 230 g band. Launch list was $1,990 (2021). Do not copy XR-4 rows here. Do not invent a 2026 shop price.
Who it is for
- Owners documenting Aero from Varjo’s own spec table (2880×2720, 115°/134°, 487 g + 230 g).
Who should skip it
- Anyone shopping current Varjo. The product page points at XR-4 Series.
- XR-3 / VR-3 enterprise buyers. Those are different Gen 3 SKUs — not this H1.
- AMD-GPU PCs. Varjo Aero system requirements: NVIDIA only (accessed via Varjo support).
- Standalone shoppers. Aero needs a PC, DisplayPort, USB-A 3.0, and SteamVR base stations.
Key differentiators
- 2880×2720 Mini-LED LCD per eye; 90 Hz; 35 PPD peak (Varjo); 115° H / 134° D at 12 mm eye relief.
- Motorized IPD 57–73 mm; 200 Hz eye tracking; 1-dot calibration.
- 487 g visor + 230 g headband with counterweight (Varjo table).
- Launch $1,990; no annual software subscription (2021 news).
Caveats
- Discontinued. Do not print $1,990 as a 2026 shop price.
- Gen 3 support ended 1 January 2026 (Varjo product update). Existing setups keep pre-2026 Varjo Base.
- Controllers are not in the “what’s in the box” list. Base stations are required and not in the box.
- 150 nits / 35 PPD are Varjo manufacturer cells, not lab scores.
- No hands-on testing.

Overview
Aero stays a hub because leftover Mini-LED kits and “is this XR-4?” queries do not retire. Do not 301 this onto XR-4. PCVR peers: /vr/pimax-dream-air/, /vr/pimax-crystal-super/, /vr/valve-index/.
Display and FOV
2880 × 2720 Mini-LED LCD per eye, 90 Hz, FOV 115° H / 134° D at 12 mm eye relief. Keep the eye-relief footnote.
Mass split
487 g visor + 230 g headband (counterweight included). Do not invent a single worn kilogram.
