Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Stealth Launch, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles information when you use GadgetShowdown (https://gadgetshowdown.com). It is written in plain language for a small U.S. publishing site that may later show ads and affiliate links.
It is not a full GDPR, UK GDPR, or ePrivacy policy. If we later serve personalized ads to visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we will add a certified consent path and update this page. Until then, do not treat this document as EEA-ready.
Who is responsible
Operator: Stealth Launch, LLC, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Site: https://gadgetshowdown.com (apex host; www redirects here).
Privacy email: privacy@gadgetshowdown.com(or hello@gadgetshowdown.com with the subject “Privacy request”).
We do not publish a street mailing address. Use email via Contact.
What this site is today
As of the last-updated date:
- You can read comparisons without creating an account.
- We do not offer public comments or user logins.
- We do not currently run Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or Amazon Associates on production.
- Comparison pages reserve empty ad slots; those slots do not load ad scripts yet.
- The site may sit behind a CDN / reverse proxy (for example Cloudflare) and is hosted by infrastructure providers we use to serve static files.
The rest of this policy describes both what we already process andwhat partners may process if we turn on analytics, ads, or affiliates. We will tighten vendor names and retention windows on the day a tool goes live.
Information we collect
Automatically, when you visit
- Server, proxy, and security logs — IP address, user agent, date/time, requested URL, referrer, and similar connection data. Used for uptime, caching, abuse prevention, and debugging. Our host and CDN may keep their own logs under their policies.
- Necessary cookies or similar storage — security, load balancing, or bot-mitigation cookies set by the host or CDN. See Cookie Notice.
If you contact us
Email or a future contact form will include whatever you send — typically name, email address, message, and the page URL you mention. We use that to reply, fix errors, and keep a basic record of the request.
If analytics is enabled later
A measurement tool (for example Google Analytics 4) may set cookies or use similar identifiers to estimate traffic, popular pages, and approximate location/device categories. We would use this to understand which comparisons are useful — not to build a dossier on you or sell your identity.
If ads or affiliate links are enabled later
Third parties such as Google AdSense, Amazon Associates, or other merchants may collect device and click data under their policies when you view an ad or click a tracked link. That can include cookies, IP address, and a record that you came from this site. We do not control those companies’ full practices. Typical partner policies:
What we do not collect (today)
- Account profiles, passwords, or payment card numbers — we do not check you out
- Comment names or comment emails — comments are off
- Precise GPS location from your browser (we do not request it)
- Sensitive categories we ask you to submit (don’t email us health or government-ID details)
How we use information
- Operate, secure, cache, and debug GadgetShowdown
- Respond to corrections, privacy requests, and other mail
- Measure aggregate traffic and content performance (if analytics is on)
- Show ads or attribute affiliate referrals (if those programs are on)
- Comply with law and protect the site, readers, and our rights
Legal bases, if a jurisdiction asks: we rely on legitimate interests in running a public website and on necessity to answer a message you send us. Consent would be added if we run non-essential cookies or personalized ads where the law requires it.
Cookies and similar technologies
Categories, examples, and controls are on the Cookie Notice. You can block cookies in your browser. Blocking some cookies may affect security challenges or, later, signed-in staff tools or measurement.
Sharing
We may share information with:
- Hosting, CDN, DNS, and email providers that process data on our behalf to keep the site online and deliver mail
- Analytics, advertising, and affiliate vendors when those features are enabled
- Authorities or advisors if required by law, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect safety and the site
- A successor if Stealth Launch, LLC is involved in a merger, sale, or reorganization (we would expect the new operator to honor this policy or notify you)
We do not sell mailing lists. We do not rent your email to list brokers.
“Sale,” “sharing,” and targeted ads (U.S. state laws)
We do not sell your name or email for money.
Some U.S. state laws (including California’s CPRA) treat certain advertising cookies and cross-context behavioral advertising as a “sale” or “share” of personal information. We do not currently run personalized ads. If we enable them, we will update this page and offer any required opt-out. Until then, we do not operate a “Do Not Sell or Share” toggle because we are not doing that activity.
We also do not currently honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track as a legally required opt-out signal, because we are not selling or sharing personal information for cross-context ads today. We will revisit this if advertising changes.
Retention
- Server and CDN logs: a limited operational period set by those vendors, then deleted or aggregated
- Contact email: as long as needed to reply and keep a basic record of corrections or privacy requests
- Analytics records: whatever the tool’s default or our configured window is, if/when enabled
We will replace this with exact day-counts when production tooling is finalized.
Security
We use HTTPS and ordinary static-hosting hardening. No transmission or storage method is 100% secure. Do not send passwords or payment data to our public inboxes.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, email us and we will delete what we control.
Your choices (United States)
Depending on your state, you may have rights to request access to or deletion of personal information we hold, to correct it, or to appeal a refusal. Emailprivacy@gadgetshowdown.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may need to verify you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
Some data is limited or unavailable: logs mixed with other visitors, or information held only by Google, Amazon, or another partner. We can point you at those companies when that is the honest answer.
Authorized agents may submit a request; we will take reasonable steps to confirm the agent’s authority and your identity.
Visitors outside the United States
The site is operated from the United States / Puerto Rico. If you visit from elsewhere, your information is processed in the U.S. and any country where our host or CDN stores logs. We do not currently offer a GDPR “legal representative,” DPO, or SCCs package. If EEA/UK requirements become relevant (especially personalized ads), we will update this policy rather than pretend we already comply.
Changes
We may update this policy. The last-updated date at the top will change. If a change is material (for example we turn on AdSense or GA4), we will also note it here in plain language.
