Apple Vision Pro (M2)

The 2024 Vision Pro is still a named Support product.

Disclosure: Affiliate programs are not enrolled yet. See Affiliate disclosure. This page is manufacturer desk research, not a hands-on test — see Methodology.

In short

The 2024 Vision Pro is still a named Support product. Same 23 million pixel story and 51–75 mm IPD as M5; different chip, refresh cap, battery hours, AirPlay cap (720p), in-box bands, and weight footnote. Do not treat M5’s 750–800 g line as a like-for-like scale-up.

Who it is for

  • Owners of A2117 who need a spec hub that matches Support 117810, not the M5 page.
  • Shoppers comparing a used/refurb 2024 unit to Quest 3 or Galaxy XR without collapsing it into the M5 slug.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone buying new from Apple’s current Vision Pro storefront — that page describes the M5 unit. Use /vr/apple-vision-pro-m5/.
  • Buyers who need a published FOV degree. Apple does not give one on Support 117810 either.
  • Users under 13 (Apple age footnote on the Vision Pro family pages).

Key differentiators

  • This is the Support ID people still type from the 2024 launch. M5 does not 301 this URL.
  • M2: 8-core CPU (4 performance + 4 efficiency), 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine, 16GB unified — no 153GB/s or “super cores” line on this page.
  • Refresh stops at 100 Hz on Support 117810.
  • Battery: up to 2 hours general use, 2.5 hours video; 30W USB-C adapter in the box.

Caveats

  • Weight methodology is not the M5 sentence. Quote both footnotes; do not invent a 150 g delta.
  • Live new-unit Apple Store pricing on write day is the M5 “from $3,699” line. Do not print $3,499 as if Support still lists it.
  • No hands-on testing.

VR-category specs

Same rows on every headset hub (Vision Pro, Quest, Galaxy XR, PICO, PS VR2). FOV, weight, and battery cells quote the manufacturer footnote — they are not lab measurements.

Overview

This is the 2024 Apple Vision Pro, model A2117. Apple’s May 2026 Identify-your-model page still lists it beside M5 (A3416). The public path is /vr/apple-vision-pro-m2/. Do not 301 it to the M5 hub.

vr-v1 keys stay in the same order as every other headset page. Missing degree-FOV is still a filled row.

Display type, 23 million pixels, 51–75 mm IPD, 16GB unified, R1 12 ms, and the external 353 g battery are the shared story. Shared ≠ identical SKU.

FOV, passthrough, tether

Same rules as M5: no invented FOV degrees, no invented passthrough PPD, no PS5/SteamVR tether. Hands / eyes / voice. Support 117810 does not list Logitech Muse or PS VR2 Sense on the spatial-accessory line the way the M5 page does — do not copy M5 accessories onto A2117 unless Apple adds them to 117810.

Price

Support 117810 has no dollar price. The live US shop “from $3,699” line is the M5 storefront. Leave M2 street/refurb blank rather than inventing $3,499.

Frequently asked questions

Why does this page exist if M5 is current?

Apple still publishes a separate Support ID for the 2024 headset. Installed-base and used-market queries do not retire when M5 ships. The M5 hub is /vr/apple-vision-pro-m5/.

Is M5 just 150 g heavier?

Do not write that. M5’s 750–800 g line includes Light Seal and Dual Knit Band. M2’s 600–650 g line uses a different configuration sentence. Quote both footnotes.

Does M2 do 120 Hz?

Support 117810 lists 90, 96, and 100 Hz only.

What AirPlay resolution does M2 advertise?

Up to 720p on Support 117810. The current marketing specs page is the M5 unit at up to 1080p.
