In short
Quest Pro is the discontinued pancake / eye-tracking / face-tracking Quest. It is not Quest 3 and not “Quest Pro 2.” Do not invent grams, IPD millimeters, or a 2026 shop price. Refresh lists disagree on whether to print 80 Hz and 76 Hz — we flag both OEM sentences.
Who it is for
- Owners who already have Quest Pro and need Meta’s own hardware rows (XR2+, 12/256, 1800×1920, eye + face cameras, Touch Pro).
- Writers comparing Pro’s pancake + color PT story to Quest 3 / 3S without inventing a sharpness winner.
- People asking whether Meta still sells it — the store page now points at Quest 3.
Who should skip it
- Anyone trying to buy a new unit from Meta. Store: no longer available.
- Shoppers who need published IPD millimeters or headset grams from Meta’s blog / developer tables — those cells are not on the cited pages.
- Buyers who want Quest 3’s >120–240 Hz exclusive. Horizon docs: that path is Quest 3 only.
Key differentiators
- First Meta pancake + Snapdragon XR2+ + 12 GB / 256 GB (launch blog).
- Physical panel 1800×1920 per eye (render-scale table) — not Quest 3’s 2064×2208 and not Quest 2/3S’s 1832×1920.
- Inward cameras: eye tracking + Natural Facial Expressions (visual face tracking is Pro-only on Movement SDK notes).
- Touch Pro self-tracking controllers in the 2022 availability box; charging dock included at $1,499.99.
Caveats
- meta.com/quest/quest-pro/ and several sibling store URLs returned HTTP 400 from this write environment at times; the indexed/live title is “no longer available.”
- Do not invent 722 g or 55–75 mm IPD from reviews or Wikipedia.
- Do not publish a post-launch $999 as Meta list unless a dated Meta shop/blog sentence is re-opened.
- No hands-on testing.

Overview
Quest Pro remains a hub because owners and “does anything still have eye tracking?” queries do not retire when the PDP does. Siblings: /vr/meta-quest-3/, /vr/meta-quest-3s/, /vr/meta-quest-2/.
Do not name a product “Quest Pro 2.”
Display, FOV, refresh
| OEM cell | Quest Pro | Quest 3 | Quest 3S / 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physical per eye | 1800×1920 | 2064×2208 | 1832×1920 |
| Default 1.0 render | 1440×1584 | 1680×1760 | 1440×1584 (Q2) / 1680×1760 (3S) |

FOV degrees are not on the cited Pro blogs. We do not borrow Quest 3’s 110° H.
Refresh conflict
| Source | Rates |
|---|---|
| Horizon primary device table | 72, 80, 90 Hz |
| Same page, deprecated-API note | 76 Hz also requestable on Pro |
| Quest 3 exclusive note | Above 120 Hz up to 240 Hz — not Pro |
Passthrough and cameras
Launch blogs: full-color stereoscopic passthrough; outward cameras 4× Quest 2 pixels. That is not the later consumer-compare 4MP / 18 PPD sentence used on Quest 3 / 3S — do not copy PPD onto this slug. Inward cameras: eye + face. Movement SDK: visual face tracking is Pro-only; other Quests use Audio To Expressions.
What we refused to invent
IPD mm, headset grams, watt-hours, Wi-Fi generation, a 2026 USD ticket, and a post-launch $999 list without a dated Meta shop sentence.

Frequently asked questions
Can I still buy Quest Pro from Meta?
The live product page says Meta Quest Pro is no longer available and steers shoppers to Quest 3. Connect 2024: remaining Quest 2 and Pro units would sell through the end of 2024 or until gone.
Is this the same panel as Quest 3 or 3S?
No. Horizon render-scale: Pro 1800×1920; Quest 3 2064×2208; Quest 2 and 3S 1832×1920.
Does it have eye tracking?
Yes, on Meta’s Movement SDK docs. Visual face tracking (Natural Facial Expressions) is also a Pro inward-camera feature. That is not a Quest 3 row.
What refresh rates?
The primary Horizon chart marks 72, 80, and 90 Hz. A footnote says 76 Hz can also be requested. We will not invent 120 Hz.
How much does it weigh? What is the IPD range?
Not on the cited Meta blogs or developer tables this pass. We will not invent 722 g or 55–75 mm.
Is $1,499.99 today’s price?
It is Meta’s 25 October 2022 availability price. The store no longer sells the headset. We did not re-date a later official list cut.
