In short
Ultra is the current PICO MR headset: Gen 2 chip, 12 GB, Wi-Fi 7, wider IPD than PICO 4, and 32 MP seethrough cameras. Same 2160×2160 / 105° FOV class as PICO 4 on the spec sheets. Not a US Quest Store device.
Who it is for
- Buyers in regions where PICO 4 Ultra is actually sold who want XR2 Gen 2, 12 GB, Wi-Fi 7, and high-resolution color seethrough.
- PICO 4 owners comparing the published IPD change (62–72 vs 58–72), RAM, radios, and cameras — not a resolution jump.
Who should skip it
- US shoppers who cannot fulfill a PICO global SKU. We did not find a PICO US buy URL to date on write day.
- People who want Meta’s Quest Store as the default library.
- Anyone treating PICO’s “vs previous model” brightness/latency lines as independent lab results.
Key differentiators
- 12 GB + 256 GB; Wi-Fi 7; Bluetooth 5.3; XR2 Gen 2.
- 32 MP color seethrough ×2 + iToF; PICO footnotes that displayed seethrough is not a raw 32 MP view.
- IPD 58–72 mm (PICO 4 spec sheet is 62–72 mm).
- Front/rear weight split published (304 g / 276 g; ~580 g ±3 g).
Caveats
- Global spec page vs regional OS/storefront. PICO 4 still lists PICO OS 5.0 — Ultra’s spec page captured this pass did not lead with an OS version. Do not invent PICO OS 6.
- Marketing “3.0 Gbps / 5 ms” Wi-Fi 7 lines are PICO claims with footnotes.
- No hands-on testing.

Overview
PICO 4 Ultra is the current global PICO mixed-reality headset. Siblings: /vr/pico-4/, /vr/pico-4-pro/ (CN specs only), /vr/pico-neo3-link/ (last-gen XR2 + DP cable).
Display, FOV, PPD
2160×2160 per eye, 1200 PPI, pancake, 105° FOV, 20.6 avg / 22.5 center PPD. Render target 1920×1920 is a separate cell. Hours of battery life are not on the spec page — only mAh.
Passthrough
32 MP cameras with an honest manufacturer footnote: the seethrough image is not a 32 MP view. Quote the footnote.
IPD and weight
- Ultra IPD 58–72 mm vs PICO 4 62–72 mm. Quote both.
- Weight is a split (304 / 276 g) plus a ±3 g total. That is better than most OEMs. Still not a comfort score.
Tether and platform
Standalone. Wi-Fi 7 streaming claims stay labeled as PICO claims. PICO Store, not Quest, not PS5.

Frequently asked questions
Is this sold in the US?
The global spec page is live. We did not confirm a PICO US retail URL on 19 September 2026. Say so on any vs-page.
Is the display a jump from PICO 4?
Both spec sheets list 2160×2160 and 105° FOV. Ultra adds a 1920×1920 render-resolution line, 90 Hz only on the Ultra specs table (PICO 4 lists 72/90), and the seethrough/camera/radio/RAM story.
Does 32 MP seethrough mean a 32 MP view?
No. PICO’s own footnote says Color Seethrough is an 8 MP combined image and the displayed pixel count is lower after crop.
