Pro 2 is lighthouse PC VR, not a Quest.

In short

Pro 2 is lighthouse PC VR, not a Quest. Same 2448×2448 class as Focus Vision’s panel number, but the platform is SteamVR + link box, not inside-out standalone. Wireless adapter caps refresh at 90 Hz per HTC. Grams are not on the spec sheet.

Who it is for

  • Owners of SteamVR 1.0/2.0 base stations who want HTC’s 2448×2448 / 120° H Pro 2 visor.
  • People comparing leftover Pro 2 kits to Index or Focus Vision’s DP path using OEM rows only.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone who wants standalone / no base stations. That is Focus Vision or Quest, not Pro 2.
  • Buyers who need a dated US list on the spec URL — it has none.

Key differentiators

  • 2448×2448 per eye; 90/120 Hz; 120 Hz not available via wireless adapter.
  • FOV up to 120° horizontal (axis stated).
  • SteamVR Tracking 2.0; IPD 57–70 mm; DP 1.4+ DSC required for Full Resolution.

Caveats

  • Full Resolution mode needs RTX 20 / Radeon 5000-class or newer and DP 1.4+ DSC (HTC).
  • Headset-only box does not include base stations or controllers unless the SKU says so — the specs “Includes” list is the headset cable kit.
  • No grams.

Overview

VIVE Pro 2 is lighthouse PC VR. Same-line predecessor: /vr/htc-vive-pro/ (1440×1600 AMOLED — do not merge). Different HTC lines: /vr/htc-vive-focus-vision/ (inside-out hybrid), /vr/htc-vive-xr-elite/. Typical lighthouse peer: /vr/valve-index/.

FOV and refresh

HTC states up to 120° horizontal — keep the axis. Refresh 90/120, wireless 90 only.

Tether

Required DisplayPort. Full Resolution needs DP 1.4+ DSC and a Turing/Navi-or-newer GPU per HTC. Do not invent HDMI.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same panel as Focus Vision?

Both spec sheets print 2448×2448 per eye. Platforms differ (SteamVR + link box vs standalone/DP hybrid). That is not a clarity verdict.

Can I run 120 Hz wirelessly?

HTC: only 90 Hz via VIVE Wireless Adapter.

Are controllers in the box?

Not on the headset-only Includes list. Confirm the SKU.
