In short

Tab S9 FE is the leftover $449.99 10.9-inch LCD Fan Edition: Exynos 1380, in-box S Pen, IP68, dual speakers, 8,000 mAh. Buy leftover if you want 2023 FE IP68 + stylus. Skip it if you want S10 FE’s Exynos 1580 or S9 AMOLED.

Who it is for

  • Leftover shoppers who want an in-box S Pen and IP68 on a 10.9-inch LCD without S9 AMOLED money.
  • People comparing S9 FE vs S10 FE on SoC (Exynos 1380 vs 1580) and RAM (6/8GB vs later 8/12GB) — not on a retailer mix-up.
  • 5G shoppers — US Newsroom lists a Tab S9 FE 5G SKU (1.16 lb) separately from Wi-Fi (1.15 lb).

Who should skip it

  • Anyone who wants Dynamic AMOLED 2X or 120 Hz. That is leftover Tab S9 / current Tab S11.
  • People shopping the 12.4-inch Tab S9 FE+. That is a sibling SKU (10,090 mAh, dual 8 MP rear).
  • iPadOS shoppers.

Key differentiators

  • 10.9-inch LCD up to ~90 Hz. IE / US B2B PDF: 2304 × 1440 (WUXGA+). US Support ANS10003691: 2340 × 1440. Print both; do not pick.
  • Exynos 1380 (IE: 2.4 GHz + 2 GHz octa-core); 6GB+128GB or 8GB+256GB; microSD up to 1TB.
  • In-box S Pen (BLE not supported); IP68; dual AKG + Dolby Atmos.
  • 8,000 mAh typical. 45W wall charger sold separately (Newsroom footnote).

Caveats

  • Resolution conflict is live OEM vs OEM: ANS10003691 2340 × 1440 vs IE/B2B 2304 × 1440. Print both.
  • Weight: US Newsroom 1.15 lb Wi-Fi / 1.16 lb 5G; Samsung IE SM-X510 523 g. Do not convert one into the other.
  • Video hours: IE “up to 18” vs US B2B sheet “up to 13.” Print both. Do not copy the FE+ 20-hour Newsroom line onto this SKU.
  • Samsung product photography is not hosted here.

Overview

Tab S9 FE is the October 2023 10.9-inch Fan Edition leftover. Current FE sell-in is S10 FE. This hub stays so leftover shoppers, and the vs mesh, have an OEM first table instead of mixing Exynos 1380 with later 1580 or S9 AMOLED language.

We have not used this tablet. 8,000 mAh / hour claims stay Samsung’s.

Display and SoC

Frequently asked questions

Is S9 FE the current Fan Edition?

No. Later S10 FE / S10 FE+ launched April 2025. Keep this slug as the 2023 leftover 10.9-inch FE.

2304 or 2340?

IE and the US B2B sheet print 2304 × 1440. ANS10003691 prints 2340 × 1440. We print both.

45W in the box?

Newsroom says the 45W wall charger is sold separately. Do not invent an in-box brick.
