In short

Surface Go 3 is Microsoft’s September 2021 leftover 10.5-inch Windows 11 S-mode slate: optional LTE, 24W in-box, 28.0 Wh, pen and Type Cover sold separately. Buy leftover if you want the Windows 11 Go before Go 4 N200. Skip it if you want current compact Go 4 or a 13-inch Pro.

Who it is for

  • Leftover shoppers who want a 10.5-inch Windows 11 kickstand tablet with optional LTE Advanced and a 24W in-box brick before Go 4 for Business.
  • Pen users who will buy Surface Pen. Support lists Surface Pen; Type Cover is sold separately.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone who wants the later compact Surface. That is Surface Go 4 for Business at /tablets/microsoft-surface-go-4/.
  • Buyers who want a 13-inch Pro, Thunderbolt 4, or 120 Hz Flow. That starts at Surface Pro 8.
  • People who need a published nits figure. The Support features page we pulled does not print nits — do not copy Go 4’s 350 nits typical backward.

Key differentiators

  • 10.5-inch PixelSense, 1920 × 1280, 220 ppi, 3:2, 1500:1, Gorilla Glass 3 (Store spec block).
  • Windows 11 Home in S mode (consumer) or Windows 10/11 Pro (commercial). S mode can be switched off and not switched back.
  • USB-C + Surface Connect + 3.5 mm + MicroSDXC + Type Cover port. In-box 24W (Support charging table, models 1735/1736); 30W recommended for Fast Charging.
  • 28.0 Wh nominal / 26.8 Wh min. Typical-use: up to 11 hours Wi-Fi; up to 10.5 hours LTE Advanced on the Store block we pulled.

Caveats

  • The Support features page is thinner than later Go 4 Store tables. Processor / RAM / storage SKUs are not on that features page — do not invent Pentium Gold / i3-10100Y / 4GB from a review unless you are citing a Microsoft Store configure table you re-opened.
  • Peak nits are not on the Support features page we pulled.
  • A US launch dollar start is not in the Devices Blog paragraphs we pulled.
  • Microsoft product photography is not hosted here.

Overview

Surface Go 3 is Microsoft’s September 2021 leftover most-portable 10.5-inch Windows 11 slate. Current compact Surface sell-in is Go 4 for Business. This hub stays so leftover shoppers have a tablets-v1 record instead of mixing S-mode / 24W rows with later N200 Go 4 sheets.

We have not used this tablet. 11-hour typical-use stays a Microsoft claim.

Honesty on thin Support

The Go 3 Support features page does not print CPU, RAM, nits, or a US dollar start. Those cells stay Not published unless a Microsoft Store configure table is cited. We do print 28.0 / 26.8 Wh and 544 / 553 g from the Store spec block we pulled, and 24W in-box from the Surface Go charging table.
