Official sheets, re-checked

Same 8 RDNA 2 CUs and 4–15W APU envelope on both Valve sheets. LCD is the 7nm / 7-inch 60Hz 400-nit IPS / LPDDR5-5500 / 40Wh / ~669g / Wi-Fi 5 / Bluetooth 5.0 leftover (64GB and 512GB still marked while-supplies-last). OLED is the 6nm / 7.4-inch 90Hz HDR OLED (1,000 / 600 nits) / LPDDR5-6400 / 50Wh / ~640g / Wi-Fi 6E / Bluetooth 5.3 current hardware.

Re-checked 2026-09-19: steamdeck.com/en/tech/deck and steamdeck.com/en/tech. Do not paste OLED nits or Wi-Fi 6E onto LCD.

Quote the two official sheets. Do not invent a lab winner.

The verdict

Steam Deck LCD or Steam Deck OLED — quote the two manufacturer sheets.

Why: Both columns are manufacturer desk research. A winner would be an editorial invention.

AvailabilityLCD spec page: 64GB and 512GB while supplies last; 256GB still listed on Valve’s compare moduleShipping as Valve’s current Steam Deck hardware (512GB and 1TB). LCD 256GB remains a leftover SKU on Valve’s compare module.

What the Steam Deck LCD hub emphasizes

  • Original Steam Deck control language: dual 32.5mm haptic trackpads, four grip buttons, capacitive sticks, SteamOS 3.
  • Valve still publishes a dedicated LCD spec sheet (7nm, 7-inch IPS, 40Wh, 2–8 hours, ~669g).
  • 64GB eMMC class SKU existed; OLED never offered 64GB on the current sheet.
  • Leftover pricing is the commercial story, not a faster GPU than OLED.

What the Steam Deck OLED hub emphasizes

  • Only current Steam Deck with HDR OLED, 1,000-nit HDR peak / 600-nit SDR, 110% P3, and up to 90Hz on Valve’s spec sheet.
  • SteamOS 3 (Arch-based) plus KDE Plasma desktop — Valve’s console-like Steam UI, not Windows 11.
  • Dual 32.5mm haptic trackpads with pressure-sensitive click. Ally and Switch do not ship this.
  • 50Wh pack and Valve’s 3–12 hour gameplay claim; OLED page also says 30–50% more battery life than LCD Deck.

Steam Deck LCD caveats

  • 64GB and 512GB LCD are “available while supplies last” on Valve’s LCD sheet. Do not write them as a forever store SKU.
  • Launch US prices ($399/$529/$649) were cut when OLED launched. Re-check the live store; leftover street prices go stale.
  • Do not paste OLED 1,000-nit / 90Hz / Wi-Fi 6E rows onto this page.

Steam Deck OLED caveats

  • Every brightness, battery-hour, and “up to 3× faster downloads” line is a Valve claim. GadgetShowdown has not lab-tested OLED Deck.
  • Valve’s current US storefront price can differ from the November 2023 $549 / $649 launch pair. Re-check store.steampowered.com on write day.
  • 64GB and 512GB LCD leftovers are a different hub. Do not paste OLED nits or Wi-Fi 6E onto LCD.

  • Do not paste a published cell from one hub onto the other.
