In short

Go 2 is the 8.8-inch 1200p OLED Legion with detachable controllers and a 74Wh pack. Skip it if you wanted original Go’s 1600p IPS or Go S’s fused 8-inch SteamOS option.

Who it is for

  • Windows buyers who want the current 8.8-inch OLED Legion with detachable controllers and a 74Wh pack.
  • People comparing 1200p OLED / DisplayHDR True Black 1000 against original Go’s 1600p IPS.
  • Shoppers who want FPS mode + mouse wheel + larger 24×24mm right pad versus Go S’s fused 10×10mm pad.

Who should skip it

  • Anyone who wants original Go’s 2560×1600 IPS. That stays on `/handhelds/lenovo-legion-go/`.
  • Buyers who want Go S’s fused 8-inch VRR + official SteamOS SKU.
  • People who need a published US dollar MSRP. StoryHub printed €999 expected start only.
  • SteamOS-first shoppers. 8ASP2/8AHP2 PSREF blocks we pulled list Windows 11 Home, not SteamOS.

Key differentiators

  • 8.8-inch WUXGA OLED, 500 / 1100 nits, 144Hz, DisplayHDR True Black 1000, 100% DCI-P3 (8ASP2 display block).
  • 74Wh + Rapid Charge up to 50% in 30 minutes; 15h 1080p video @150 nits on the 8ASP2 sheet.
  • Detachable controllers return, with a 24×24mm right pad (vs 10×10mm on Go S).

Caveats

  • This hub’s first table follows 8ASP2 Z2 Extreme. 8AHP2 US configs (e.g. 83N10008US) use Ryzen Z2 and LPDDR5X-7500. Say which machine type.
  • TDP is not an Ally-style wattage table. Keep Not published.
  • GadgetShowdown has not lab-tested Go 2. Peak nits and video hours are OEM.

Overview

Legion Go 2 is Lenovo’s current 8.8-inch OLED handheld family. This hub locks 8ASP2 Z2 Extreme for Extreme sentences and keeps 8AHP2 Z2 named as a sibling config.

We have not bench-tested this unit.

Original 8APU1 (1600p IPS, 49.2Wh) and Go S (fused 8-inch, 55.5Wh, SteamOS option) stay off this first table.

Display

8.8-inch WUXGA OLED, 16:10, 144Hz, 500 nits typical / 1100 nits peak, DisplayHDR True Black 1000, 100% DCI-P3 on 8ASP2, Gorilla Glass 3, TÜV Low Blue Light, touch.

Do not write “1600p OLED.” Original Go’s 2560×1600 stays on that hub.
