Oura Ring Gen2 hub notes

  • No Oura Membership and no membership fees (Membership support, 8 September 2026).
  • Night-only IR HR / respiratory rate — not the Gen3 green+red daytime stack.
  • Balance and Heritage bodies; finishes Stealth, Black, Silver, Gold.

Gen2 is the last no-membership Oura: night-only IR HR, discontinued hardware, firmware frozen at 4.0.8 (18 October 2022). Keep it if you already own one and refuse a subscription. Do not buy one as a new US retail SKU — Oura no longer sells it.

Oura Ring Gen3 hub notes

  • First Oura with daytime / activity HR (green + red + IR) and Cycle Insights NTC.
  • Horizon (palm dimple) vs Heritage (flat on top) — wear orientation differs.
  • Firmware still rolling in 2026 (3.4.3, 20 April 2026).

Gen3 is the last discontinued Oura that still takes membership software and firmware 3.4.3 (20 April 2026). Buy leftover only if you already own one. Skip a new purchase — Oura no longer sells the ring or its charger.
