In short
S25 Ultra is the 2025 6.9-inch AI flagship: Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (not Gen 5), 200MP F1.7 wide, 3x + 5x optical teles, 5,000 mAh typical, 45W-class 65%-in-30-minutes, titanium + Gorilla Armor 2, Android 15 / One UI 7, seven OS upgrades + seven years of security. Keep it as the locked-compare Ultra (vs iPhone 16 Pro). Do not invent a pixel-grid number (Newsroom says QHD+), a nits cell (not on this extract), or paste S26 Ultra’s F1.4 / 7.9 mm / 60W / Privacy Display cells onto this SKU.
Who it is for
- Owners still on S25 Ultra who want one honest OEM record before reading a future S25 Ultra vs S26 Ultra page.
- Writers hanging the locked iPhone 16 Pro vs Galaxy S25 Ultra comparison off a real device hub.
- Android leftover shoppers who specifically want the 2025 Ultra toolkit: 6.9-inch QHD+, 200MP wide, 3x + 5x optical, published 5,000 mAh, seven OS upgrades.
- People who need the Newsroom-sheet facts: 162.8 × 77.6 × 8.2 mm, 218 g, 12GB RAM, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, IP68 1.5 m / 30 min, $1,299.99 launch.
Who should skip it
- Anyone who wants the current Ultra. That is Galaxy S26 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, F1.4 wide, 7.9 mm / 214 g, 60W-class 75%-in-30-minutes, Privacy Display). This hub is the 2025 SKU.
- Buyers who need a compact ~6.3-inch Pro. That is iPhone 16/17/18 Pro or Pixel 9/11 Pro, not this 162.8 × 77.6 mm slab.
- Readers who want a published exact pixel resolution or a nits cell. The Newsroom table says QHD+. It does not print 3120×1440 or a nit rating on the extract we pulled.
- People shopping from a page that still lists Exynos on some S25 markets. Ultra’s Newsroom AP row is Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy — still confirm the US box.
Key differentiators
- Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy (Newsroom: customized vs generic 8 Elite; 40% NPU / 37% CPU claims vs prior-gen wording). This is not S26 Ultra’s 8 Elite Gen 5.
- Camera table: 50MP UW F1.9, 200MP wide F1.7, 10MP 3x F2.4, 50MP 5x F3.4, 12MP front F2.2 — the 50MP UW upgrade vs the prior 12MP UW (Newsroom).
- 5,000 mAh typical / 4,855 mAh rated; wired 65% in around 30 minutes with a 45W adapter; Fast Wireless Charging 2.0; Wireless PowerShare.
- Seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from the global launch date (Newsroom footnote 22) — a clearer year-count than S26 Ultra’s security-only extract.
Caveats
- This is a legacy hub. Street prices and One UI versions move. Re-pull the live Samsung spec module on write day.
- US `/smartphones/galaxy-s25-ultra/specs/` was not used as a primary table (S26-era /specs/ 404 pattern). The specification table used here is the US Newsroom article.
- Newsroom does not print a nits cell or a pixel-grid number. Do not invent 2600 nits or 3120×1440 from a review blog or from S26 Ultra’s US compare FAQ.
- S Pen: the Newsroom IP footnote discusses S Pen water/dust resistance immediately after the Ultra IP68 block. That is the OEM tell that Ultra still includes an S Pen. Newsroom does not print a dedicated “built-in S Pen: Yes” FAQ row on this extract. Confirm the US box.

Overview
Galaxy S25 Ultra is the January 2025 6.9-inch Ultra. Samsung’s own framing at launch was Galaxy AI as a “true AI companion,” a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, and a 50MP ultrawide upgrade. The physical product is a 6.9-inch titanium phone — 162.8 × 77.6 × 8.2 mm, 218 g.
This hub exists so the locked phone comparison (iPhone 16 Pro vs S25 Ultra) hangs off one OEM record, and so S26 Ultra upgrade pages can speak sheet-to-sheet. The first spec table is phones-v1.
We do not claim we still have one on a desk. Where Newsroom omits nits, pixel grid, and video fps, we leave those cells unpublished.
Display
Newsroom: 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 1–120Hz, Vision booster, Adaptive color tone. No nit rating and no 3120×1440 on the table we pulled.

Software
Android 15 + One UI 7 at launch. Seven OS upgrades and seven years of security from global launch. That year-count is why leftover shoppers still treat this SKU as a long-support Android Ultra.
Price, SKUs, and what not to invent
Launch US start $1,299.99, 256GB–1TB, 12GB RAM. Not current sell-in as of 19 September 2026 (S26 Ultra is current).
Do not invent Geekbench or a pixel grid. The locked 16 Pro vs S25 Ultra page should pull this hub.
