No. Site rule: do not skip old devices. M4 is the leftover between M3 (1080p / 8GB era) and M5 (512GB / N1).
Same screen as M5?
Same 13.6-inch 2560×1664 500-nit Liquid Retina size class. The M5 story is chip bandwidth, storage floor, and N1 — not a new panel size.
Does M4 already have Center Stage and dual displays?
Yes. Those arrived on M4 Support 122209. M3 still needs the lid closed for a second display and is 1080p FaceTime HD.
Is $999 a leftover street price?
